CLOSER: FINAL AUSTRALIAN TOUR FOR 2011
Birds of Tokyo are finishing off a monster year with their recently announced Closer Tour. The band will travel to twenty-two towns across the country to play their last shows for 2011 before heading into the studio for the summer. Joining Birds Of Tokyo will be the increasingly buzzworthy punk rockers Boy In A Box (aka Tij Priddle). Boy In A Box’s singles, the catchy-as-hell, “Moon Comes Up” and “Glitter, Gold, Ruin”, have received loads of love on Triple J airwaves and a long-player is expected from the Melbourne-based band later this year. Boy In A Box will join the tour from Newcastle onwards. Also joining the tour will be Rockhampton locals, Busby Marou, who kick off the first two shows of the tour in Rockhampton and Bundaberg. Then one of the country’s most genuinely exciting new bands, The Medics will kick off the evening for southern Queensland and Northern NSW shows. The complete dates and venues for Birds Of Tokyo: Closer are as follows and just a reminder that no extra shows will be added to this tour so fans be sure to get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Team Bird Fanatics in Idaho hosted an annual birdathon to raise funds for bird conservation. In 2011, they joined Walk on the Wild Side and topped their 2010 donations. According to organizer Poo Wright-Pulliam:
